Projects still stand taller than People
The Manhattan Projects scored on their opening drive, with five passes including the 3-yard TD from QB Oliver Klozov to RB Avery Nastibooy, although the biggest play was a 28-yard run by RB Anthony Kistmi, to apparently clear the cobwebs from their passing game after a four-week skid to end the season. But after that, the game fell back into the same kind of defensive battle as the regular season match two weeks ago. Still, the Projects defense could not be broken by the Peoria People, and the Projects scored an insurance TD in the 3rd quarter, a 3-yard run by Klozov. Manhattan killed two Peoria scoring chance with an interception in the end zone and a blocked field goal attempt. Neither team cracked 200 yards passing, but the Projects got 213 yards rushing, including the big game from Kistmi and 64 from Nastibooy.

Choochoos roll past Yankees
The Connecticut Yankees spotted the Chattanooga Choochoos 16 points with two three-and-outs, including a big punt return, and an interception, but the Choochoos were full steam anyway and never looked back, reversing the prognosis for the game that had the Yankees as the stable force and Chattanooga as the erratic one. The Choochoos opened their first playoff appearance since 2009 with a rousing win, and spoiled the Yankees' even better regular season. Chattanooga RB Ben Jeter rushed for 109 yards and a TD, and had a reception for 10 yards, and WR D.O. Durant caught 11 passes for 141 yards and 2 TDs, so the beleagured stars came up big in their playoff opener. The Choochoos now travel to Manhatten for the Eastern Conference Championship.

Rednecks kick Armadillos again
The game went much like their regular season meeting, with both teams passing for less than 200 yards, but it was a bit more lively offensively, thanks mainly to the rushing game, and the battle of the Dicks. The Tucson Rednecks scored on the opening drive, a 19-yard run by RB Dick Burns, to make things less anxious about getting into the end zone, then after Amarillo scored 10 points in the 3rd quarter to pull within one [14-13], thanks in part to a 48-yard run by RB Dick Dover, the Rednecks took charge of the 4th quarter with 10 points of their own, thanks also to a 26-yard run by Burns, a 14-yard TD run by running mate Collier Dogzov, and a 61-yard field goal by kicker Ahmed Datako Bell. Gods cast out Swamp Rats
The Olympia Gods confirmed their regular season result against the Baton Rouge Swamp Rats, and although there were twists, the score was nearly the same. Baton Rouge got their passing game going this time, with 221 yards, 98 of it to TE Stanko Szit, after less than 100 in the prior meeting. But the big turn was Olympia RB Chester Doggon Minnit dominating as both rusher and receiver, after missing a couple of late season games with injury and when that was supposed to be the Swamp Rats' advantage. Big plays by Minnit set up both scores that led to the Gods' 10-0 lead: a 28-yard run for the TD, which Minnit scored himself on a 5-yard run, and a 51-yard reception that set up a field goal. Baton Rouge took charge with 10 points across the 3rd and 4th quarters, and a 17-10 lead, something they didn't do in the last match, but QB Xavier Onassis and Olympia took over with the pass, with a 44-yard TD to WR Landon Jayle and a 9-yard TD to TE Louis Leaky Fawcett.
